Investment passport of the Krasnoyarsk Krai

Processing productions have a significant share in the industry structure of the Krai. In 2007 5 855 organizations were engaged in this economic activity, including 28 organizations with contribution of outside capital. In 2007 the turnover of the Krai’s organizations in processing production made 538 billion rubles, the volume of shipped goods made 532,3 billion rubles and increased by 22,1 % and 23,7 % in comparison with 2006.

Among the Siberian Federal District regions the Krasnoyarsk Krai is the leader in the volume of processing production goods and processing production goods per head.

According to the results of the year, except for the extraction of minerals, the production has increased in 8 from 14 economic activities of processing production. They, include:

Metallurgy output and production of metal finished goods
(the first place in the share (75,0 %) of processing production)

Metallurgy output and production of metal finished goods is a base manufacture as its share in the volume of production shipped by the Krasnoyarsk region enterprises in 2007 made 75,0 % of the total amount of shipped production. The volume of shipped goods of own production and executed works and services of this type has increased by 23 % in comparison with 2006 and made 399,1 billion rubles.

Share of metallurgy output in the turnover structure of the enterprises involved in processing production

4 out of 6 monopolistic producers in the Krasnoyarsk Krai represent the metallurgy:
• Polar branch “MMC Norilsk Nickel” JSC;
• ‘’RUSAL — Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant’’ JSC;
• “Non-ferrous Metals Plant, named by Gulidov” JSC;
• “RUSAL — Achinsk” JSC.

The region's share in the all-russian manufacture nonferrous metals is 30 %. Enterprises of the Krasnoyarsk Krai also produce:
• more than 70 % of cooper,
• more than 80 % of nickel,
• more than 90 % platinum group metals,
• aluminium — 28 %,
• gold — about 10 %.

Production of vehicles and equipment
(the second place in the share (5,4 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods in vehicles and equipment production increased by 73,5 % and made 27,1 billion rubles.

The main types of products:
• roadways electric cranes (including special);
• grain-harvesting combines;
• refrigerators and household deep-freezers.

The following are the largest companies:
• “Krasnoyarsk combine harvesters plant” JSC;
• “Sibtyazhmash” JSC (bridge-building cranes, conveyor complexes, ore transportation complexes). The plant is the only manufacturer of heavy electric bridgebuilding cranes with a freight-carrying capacity of more than 200 tons in Russia;
• “Krasmash” FSUE (defense orders, oil-refining equipment, heating equipment, equipment for food industry);
• “Kraslesmash” JSC (logging and wood-processing equipment);
• “Krasnoyarsk plant of refrigerators “Biryusa” JSC.

Production of foodstuffs, including drinks and tobacco
(the third place in the share (4,7 %) of processing production)

In 2007 the volume of production increased by 6,6 %. The amount of the shipped goods made 25,2 billion rubles. The basic types of products:

Meat, including by-products of the 1st category;

Whole-milk production (in milk equivalent);

In the Krasnoyarsk Krai there are:
• 18 dairy-products processing plants, 9 meat processing plants, 1 vegetables canning plant, 1 salt plant, 7 battery farms, 5 confectioneries;
• 36 grain collecting stations, 4 breweries (also producing alcohol-free beverages), 4 alcohol producing companies, 1 tobacco factory and 1 yeast plant.

The Krasnoyarsk Krai Administration carries out state support of food-processing industry enterprises activity by giving grants for compensation of the credit rates attracted for raw material purchase. In 2007 the grants were given in sum of 9,24 million rubles. They were received by the enterprises of dairy branch — 6,25 million rubles, meat — 1,75 million rubles, flour-grinding — 1,05 million rubles, baking — 0,2 million rubles.

Companies producing foodstuffs increase competitiveness of products by:
• adoption of new technology;
• improving the quality of products and packing;
• launching new equipment and technological lines;
• using local and nontraditional raw materials.

Production of coke, oil products and nuclear materials

(the fourth place in the share (4,36 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods increased by 32,8 % and amounted to 23,2 billion rubles. These are the main types of products:
• primary oil refining;
• automobile petrol;
• diesel fuel;
• furnace fuel oil (gross output).

The fifth companies are “Achinsk Petroleum Processing Plant (PPP)” JSC, Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Mining and Chemical Combinat”, Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Electrochemical Plant”.

Production of nonmetallic mineral products
(the fifth place in the share (2,17 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods increased by 58 % and amounted to 11,6 billion rubles in comparison with 2006. High rate of growth in construction and realization of large investment projects in the region’s industry were the major factors of growth in 2007.

Structures and elements, ferro-concrete and cement have the greatest density in the production pattern of this kind of activity. The following are the main types of products:
• cement;
• asbestos-cement sheeting;
• bricks;
• mineral cotton wool and products of it;
• reinforced concrete;
• panels and other constructions for large-panel housebuilding
• glazing glass.

Processing of wood and production of timber products
(the sixth place in the share (1,83 %) of processing production)

The Krasnoyarsk Krai is, one of the most wood-rich regions of the country. The total supply of main kinds of timber is 11,1 billion cub meters (about 13,6 % of the Russian Federation). Production volume of wood processing and timber products increased by 31,1 % and made 9,7 billion rubles. The growth of production of deep wood processing continues. It is connected with a growing dynamics of basic consumers’ demand inside the country as well as abroad.

The main types of products include:
• saw-mill products, including saw-mill products of raw materials;
• wooden railroad sleepers for broad-gauge lines;
• wood-fiber plates;
• wood-shaving plates.

The largest enterprises are located in Krasnoyarsk, Lesosibirsk and Yeniseisk. Transportation of wood is carried out by waterways along the large rivers of the Krai and railway transportation. The largest companies are: “Lesosibirsk LDK-1” JSC, “Novoyeniseisk LHK” CJSC, “Maklakovsky LDK” JSC, “Yenisei Woodworking Company” LLC, “Krasnoyarsk Woodworking Company” CJSC, PG “Siberian wood” LLС.

Production of vehicles and equipment
(the seventh place in the share (1,55 %) of processing production)

In 2007 the volume of shipped vehicles and equipment increased by 42,6 % and amounted to 8,3 billion rubles in comparison with 2006. The main types of products:
• Trailers for lorries.
The main companies are: “SKAD” plant LLC, “KiK” LLC (production of motor webs), “Krasnoyarsk plant of dragging equipment” JSC.

Chemical production
(the eighth place in the share (1,45 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods increased by 31,2 % and amounted to 7,7 billion rubles. The main types of products:

• sulfuric acid in monohydrate;
• calcined soda 100 % (without potash);
• caustic soda 100 % (including caustic potassium 100 %);
• mineral fertilizers (in recalculation to 100 % of nutrients);
• synthetic pitches and plastic masses;
• synthetic rubbers.

Production of electric equipment, electronic and optical equipment
(the ninth place in the share (0,85 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods increased by 34,6 % and amounted to 4,5 billion rubles in comparison with 2006. The main types of products:
• electrical machines and electric equipment;
• products of medical engineering;
• optical devices and equipment;
• single-phase electric counters;
• TVs.
The main company is “Divnogorsk Plant of low tension devices” JSC, “Electroсomplex” JSC, “Power engineering and ecology” JSC.

Pulp-and-paper production; publishing and printing activity
(the tenth place in the share (0,61 %) of processing production)

The volume of shipped goods amounted to 3,2 billion rubles (increasing by 12,3 % in comparison with 2006 year). The main types of products:
• cellulose, including chemical wood mass;
• paper;
• cardboard (including paper for goffering);
• books and brochures;
• newspapers.
The major enterprise is “Yenisei pulp-and-paper plant” LLC.

Rubber and plastic products output
(the eleventh place in the share(0,52 %) of processing production)

The volume of the shipped goods amounted to 2,8 billion rubles (increasing by 44,6 % in comparison with 2006 year).

The main types of products:
• tires;
• plastic products;
• fiberglass plastics and products of them;
• reinforced plastic windows;
• reinforced plastic doors.

The largest companies are: “Krasny Yar — shina” CJSC (aeronautic tires with special assignment for military air forces) and «Stroytekhnika» JSC (manufacture of rubber mix).

Textile and clothing manufacture
(the twelfth place in the share (0,08 %) of processing production)

In 2007 the volume of shipped goods of textile and clothing output amounted to 449 million rubles (increasing by 44,6 % in comparison with 2006 year). The main types of products include:
• ready-made garments;
• knitwork;
• legwear garments.

The enterprises which produce silk fabrics are "Shelen" JSC, "Trikotazhnitsa" LLC, "Kansk Cotton combinate" JSC;

Producers of knitted fabric, legwear garments and hosiery are "Zarya" JSC, "Sewing factory "Profit" CJSC, "Novaia Zarya" LLC, "Vetluzhanka" LLC, “Pokrov” LLC, "Pharos" LLC, “Rock Pillars” LLC.

Leather and its products manufacture
(the thirteenth place in the share (0,03 %) of processing production)

In 2007 the volume of shipped goods of production of leather, products of leatheramounted to 164,1 million rubles (increasing by 19 % in comparison with 2006 year). The main type of product: footwear. The main companies are "Ionessi" CJSC, "KrasLux" LLC.
