The Krasnoyarsk Krai economy is solidly integrated into the world economy and depends on foreign trade results. The foreign trade turnover of the Krai in 2007, according to the data of Siberian customs office agency, increased by 29,6 % in comparison with 2006 and amounted to $8 151,6 million.
Export of goods in 2007 increased by 30,9 % in comparison with 2006 and amounted to $7 097,7 million. The volume of goods export in 2007 was 5 million 859 th. tones (in comparison with 2006 it increased by 20,3 %). The volume of import in 2007 was 1 053,8 million US dollars (in comparison with 2006 it increased by 21,2 %).
In 2007 foreign trade was carried out with 90 countries of CIS and other foreign countries. Switzerland, Portugal, China, Kazakhstan, the USA, Germany, France, Netherlands, Finland and Guinea are ten leading trade partners.
The export of the Krasnoyarsk Krai is directed to raw materials. This is conditioned by a number of metallurgical manufacture organizations located in the region. In commodity structure of the regional export metals and metal production made 76,1 % (basically nickel, aluminum, copper, aluminium sticks and cobalt).

Geographically the export of the Krai is focused on the countries of Western and Central Europe, Asia Pacific and American countries. The largest partner of the Krasnoyarsk Krai in export is Switzerland. The second one is Portugal and the third one is China. The EAEC, the EC, the APEC, countries as well as the EurAsEC countries are the leaders in export.

The leading position in foreign trade of the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2007 was shared by several large enterprises such as: Polar branch "MMC "Norilsk nickel" JSC, “RUSAL — Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant” JSC, “KraMZ” JSC, "Lesosibirsky LDK № 1" JSC, "Novoyeniseisky LHK" JSC, “Krasnoyarsk airlines”.
Their share is 87,7 % of cost volumes of the foreign trade turnover. In 2007 the volume of goods imported to the Krai increased by 1,3 thousand tons in comparison with 2006 and amounted to 1,053 thousand tons. The gain of volume of import is caused substantially by increasing in cost of deliveries of machines and equipment from the far abroud countries. The basic share in the structure of import belongs to:
• production of chemical industry — (47,7 % in the total amount of import), 41,2 % of the total amount of import makes aluminum oxide);
• machine, equipment and vehicles take 39,5 % of the total amount of import (diesel generating equipment, bulldozers, dredges, single-bucket loaders, multiservice transport equipment, lorries and others);
• the fuel & energy products made 3,8 % in the total amount of import (coal, coke petroleum, motor and compressor oil).
Vehicles — 32,0 %. Machine-building production was imported from the USA, China, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Austria. Import of fuel and energy goods makes 4,2 % of the total amount.

Constraining factor of development of foreign-economic activity is high share of transport component of price in export and import deliveries.
